Becoming a member of the Friends is a great way to support the great work of Portland Public Library.

Perks of Being a Friend:

  • 10 percent off purchases at the City of Readers' Bookstore. (Located next to the Lewis Gallery.)
  • Weekly emails about great finds at the bookstore and about library events and activities.
  • Opening night preview for the annual book sale. Get a jump on finding great books.


Want to participate in Friends activities? We have a number of opportunities, including:

  • Staffing our Friends table during First Friday Art Walk events in the Lewis Gallery.
  • Working at our annual Friends Book Sale in June. Jobs include sorting and cashiering.
